Beethoven, Missa Solemnis | Jérémie Rhorer

CANCELLED - COVID 19

In residence for two years at the Grand Théâtre with his Cercle de l’Harmonie, Jérémie Rhorer offers an interpretation of the Missa Solemnis, Beethoven’s testamentary work.

Inscribed in the ancient traditions of the liturgy, those of Gregorian chant and polyphony, this fresco of nearly an hour and a half sublimates the grandeur of the Austrian masses of the time, served by a powerful orchestra and masterful choirs. A great connoisseur of Beethoven, Maestro Rhorer leads his ensemble on the glorious slopes of this metope, erected to the glory of an Almighty in whom the composer saw a simple guide for the advent of a progressive and fraternal humanity.
