Le Cercle de l'Harmonie / Jérémie Rhorer

"Gathered around Jérémie Rhorer, the Cercle de l'Harmonie offers us a sumptuous Mozart celebration. An impeccable performance, with incisive energy from the strings, polyphonic clarity, and Abeauty of tone: everything is delectable. "Long live the Cercle de l'Harmonie! " Diapason

"For Jérémie Rhorer and his partners, it is an absolute fidelity to their ideal of musical purity, of artistic distinction, in fact a Mozartian ideal." Télérama

"The Circle of Harmony, made up of musicians who play as if their lives depended on it." Altamusica

Jérémie Rhorer was born in Paris in 1973. After working with Marc Minkowski, William Christie and Christopher Hogwood, he founded Le Cercle de l'Harmonie in April 2005 with the violinist Julien Chavin and a group of young musicians. The ensemble focuses on the orchestral and operatic repertoire of the late 18th century. His collaboration with Diana Damrau for her first Virgin Classics recital was highly acclaimed, with the CD receiving all the accolades of the specialist press in France. In May 2008, he triumphed at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées accompanying a sublime recital by Philippe Jaroussky. This first 'open' recording allows us to listen to three of Mozart's most famous symphonies, including the celebrated 25th, since the film Amadeus. The sharp tone of the Cercle de l'Harmonie and the extreme finesse of Jérémie Rhorer's conducting make this album a major surprise.
